The New Spray Concrete Skatepark at Felixstowe designed and built by Bendcrete had it's Open Day on the 1st September.
It was all go for the skate park launch party on the 1st September. It kicked off at 11am and ended around 3pm.
Free entry to the park there was fish and chips available, ice cream van, face painting for the little ones and plenty of cakes on a stall run by the Christ Church next to the park.
There was a skate and BMX competition with Prizes, there were three age categories, under 12, under 15 and 16+.
The opening ceremony took place at noon with speeches by councillor Doreen Savage and Joan Sennington who as ex mayor had the skatepark as her chosen charity and has a part of the park named after her, affectionately known as Joan’s Hip! A representative from the FSA committee gave thanks and a young person, Peter Ball, spoke on behalf of the young people. The mayor presented at the ceremony and it wasn't a traditional ribbon cutting!
